The Musical Heart of Egypt

Enjoy 5 Days of Dancing to Live Music in the Heart of Cairo

Immerse yourself in the Musical Heart of Egypt with Keti Sharif and Guests

Discover a unique cultural experience and immersion into authentic Egyptian musical artistry, in the heart of Cairo. This unique event is hosted by Keti Sharif (former co-ordinator of Sphinx Festivals and Mahmoud Reda/Farida Fahmy intensive study events) and features over 35 musicians.

Keti has guided hundreds of travellers throughout Egypt, and has organised many cultural events and arts festivals in Egypt since 1998. Her intimate knowledge of local dances, culture, artists and live musical traditions, blend with years of living in Egypt, and studying Islamic Art History. You will learn more about a deeply artistic and musically diverse Egypt which will benefit bellydancers and Egyptian arts enthusiasts.

Suitable for all levels, sessions are designed to deepen your dance experience. Each session begins with somatic weight-sensing exercises for dancers to live rhythms, then focuses on a specific genre, and ends with optional performance time.
