The Musical Heart of Egypt

Enjoy 5 Days of Dancing to Live Music in the Heart of Cairo

Immerse yourself in the Musical Heart of Egypt with Keti Sharif and Guests

Discover a unique cultural experience and immersion into authentic Egyptian musical artistry, in the heart of Cairo. This unique event is hosted by Keti Sharif (former co-ordinator of Sphinx Festivals and Mahmoud Reda/Farida Fahmy intensive study events) and features over 35 musicians.

Suitable for all levels, the spectrum of live music & dance sessions are designed to deepen your dance experience as you work directly with musicians and learn about Egyptian musicality, maqamaat and structure, to develop your dance planning skills and boost responsive, improvisational confidence. Each session begins with somatic weight-sensing exercises for dancers with Keti to live rhythms, then focuses on a specific genre, with guest instructors or artists, and ends with optional performance time.

You will learn more about a deeply artistic and musically diverse Egypt which will benefit bellydancers and Egyptian arts enthusiasts.
